Background

Bill and Sue bought Dory in 1999, after Sue suggested buying a boat as our US home while we were still living and working for an oil company in the Middle East.

That idea worked well, and we used Dory as a cruising vacation home in 1999 and 2000.

We decided to leave Saudi Arabia and begin our early retirement starting the spring of 2001, spending the first few years of retirement cruising full time aboard Dory, starting with the Chesapeake Bay during the summer of 2001, and then cruising north and south along the east coast as the weather changes. We arrived back in the USA in early May, and promptly began a long list of projects before casting off the lines.
